My idea of mathematics applies to an abstract understanding of the ability to see the solutions to problems that others may not clearly see. There is purpose within numbers and goes beyond the face value of them in a metaphysical matter. Patterns arise in meaningful ways when given facts and it is up to the beholder to perceive it and formulate clarifications to questions pertaining to life. These examples unlock the logic that is right in front of us and mathematics makes it coherent to interpret. Visualizing patterns creates a fresh way of looking into these interpretations to apply them into our careers, and furthermore, our everyday lives.
I think of mathematics as a painter unwrapping new canvas to paint with. Rather than thinking of mathematics as the finished product, it is instead the shades and hues that the artist chooses to work with and the technique they use to operate with. The same methodology is applied when approaching challenging problems in mathematics. How will our “paintings” turn out when problem solving? I’d argue that many mathematicians would have depictions that are starkly different from each other. That is the beauty of mathematics as we know. Statistics is a subset of mathematics that looks at the justification of numbers pertaining to humanity. As an aspiring statistician, it is in my impulsions to try and extrapolate the necessary information to find trends within the data. Finding practicality in these hidden arrangements of numbers can declare the most efficient ways of solving complications that affect different aspects of the world. It is up to us as devotees of mathematics to find the intricacies of the order it lays out in front of us. At its core, mathematics helps us quantify the unquantifiable analysis in order to make informed decisions for the future. Mathematics is a structure with justification for the movements of our world. It has shaped me into having a better understanding of factors that might not be perceived initially.
